The Kepler Experiment
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
The Kepler Experiment is a survival-horror first-person shooter, drawing inspiration from games like Half-Life, Amnesia and System Shock 2.
It is a single-player campaign, with a playtime of roughly 1-2 hours.
Story
When you are rescued by the XSS Kepler, a research vessel that went mysteriously missing many years ago, you find yourself fighting the horrifying creatures that now call the ship home. Scavenge for supplies to stay alive. Dig deep and uncover the events that led to the Kepler’s demise.
Featuring
- Survival-horror gameplay – make every bullet count and use your limited resources wisely to fight off enemies and stay alive.
- Environmental puzzle solving – collect items in your inventory and use them to solve adventure-game-style environmental puzzles to make progress.
- Audio logs and notes – immerse yourself in the story, and discover the horrors that befell the crew, by collecting the logs scattered throughout the ship.
- Immersive setting and levels – explore the XSS Kepler's decks, its spacious lobbies, its cramped corridors.
- Original soundtrack – to complement the moody levels, The Kepler Experiment features a dark and atmospheric soundtrack.
- Fully voice acted with subtitles – with English and Russian text localisation available.

It was amazing, and the endgame was so much more than I expected! Great atmosphere, art direction, music, background sounds, voice acting—everything, really. I got stuck on a few puzzles (like the battery charging one), but that was on me; it felt great to solve them without hand-holding - that’s part of the thrill :)
Just one nitpick: the SMG recoil might be a bit too strong, though to be fair, shooting in short bursts makes it much more manageable.
What more can I say? It feels just like System Shock 2!
Thanks for your comment! I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed the game.
well. that was great. That what I found at midnight for relax.
oldschool vibes of first half-life and dead space.
I liked it, sometimes it was hard at the end.
Good job guys, very inspiring.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
